Need Biblical Counseling?

Our church provides biblical counseling for free to members and regular attenders, and as time and resources allow, to our community. We are thankful for a church that recognizes the value of the Bible to help us handle the problems of living.
Biblical counseling recognizes that we have physical and spiritual problems and often they intersect. A medical diagnosis of cancer needs the best medical care, but the person diagnosed will also be tempted with wrong views of God. Views like: God doesn’t care, God has forgotten me, God cannot take care of me, or God doesn’t love me. That kind of thinking can lead to sinful responses to life. Biblical counseling recognizes that all of life is lived before God, so all of life is spiritual.

Our biblical counseling is based on the truth that God’s Word is sufficient for all spiritual problems. Sufficiency means that the Bible is all we need for salvation and sanctification. The Bible claims this and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:15–17 (ESV)

The goal of all biblical counseling is to help the Christian grow in Christlikeness (2 Cor 5:9). All of our problems are caused by sin, but not necessarily our individual sin. Some problems are the results of ways we’ve sinned, others the ways we’ve been sinned against, and still others the results of living in a world broken by sin. Scripture describes us as sinners, sufferers, and saints. Because we are saints, we have the resources through Christ, the church, the Bible, and the Holy Spirit to address our sin and our suffering.

Our counselors have experience helping people with problems like marriage issues, parenting issues, addictions, anxiety, abuse, depression, eating disorders, pornography, and many others.
