Guidelines
THE DOCTOR'S CLINIC: Each
school year we ask our teens to have their parents or guardian fill out a
medical release form. Whenever we leave town on a youth trip we bring along
these forms. In case of emergency we need the authority to provide them any
necessary medical attention. If for some reason an injury would occur at any
church sponsored activity, we ask that your family insurance policy would cover
any expenses. If your family is without medical insurance then the church’s
insurance will go into effect.
ADVENTURES IN TRAVEL: We love taking trips. They
provide a great opportunity to get out of the norm and provide many memorable
experiences. These trips are a perfect opportunity to get to know others in our
group better. For this reason, whenever we embark upon a trip we ask that all
walkmans, CD players, electronic games, cell phones, PDAs, large screen TV’s,
etc. remain at home. Remember, this is for all of our
youth activities…no exceptions, no excuses, no shirt, no shoes, no service.
THE LOVE CONNECTION: Love is always in the air!
Part of maturity is learning how to deal with the opposite sex. Some parents
often wish to postpone this event until their student reaches their late 30’s.
Wishful thinking! Within our student ministry we try to create an environment
and atmosphere in which normal, healthy and God-honoring friendships flourish.
Occasionally, romantical feelings begin to flutter and a “special”
relationship occurs. Nonetheless, we believe in a no R.A.S.H. policy. It
stands for: No Romantical Affection Shown. This includes
hand-holding, hugging, laying on each other during bus rides, and, of course, no
exchanging of lip moisture. In addition, we ask students of both genders (and
their parents) to be especially aware of the principle of modesty in their
choice of clothing.
